Basic California Roll
This is a classic California roll recipe, great for those who are just learning to make basic sushi.
Cut the cucumber lengthwise into quarters after slicing off the ends.
To make spears, slice each quarter lengthwise into thin slices.
Mayonnaise and chopped crab sticks are combined in a small bowl.
Place 1 nori sheet on a bamboo mat.
With wet hands, spread a thin, even layer of rice over the nori, leaving a 1/3-inch border at the bottom.
Sprinkle sesame seeds over the rice.
Carefully reverse.
About one-third of the way down the sheet, add 1 tablespoon of the crab mixture in a line.
Add one or two cucumber spears and one or three avocado slices to the layer.
