Brussels Sprouts with Browned Butter
A browned butter sauce is poured over pan-fried Brussels sprouts to create a rich and flavorful side dish.
Lightly salted water should be added to a large pot and brought to a rolling boil.
Add the Brussels sprouts and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until just tender.
To stop the sprouts from cooking, remove them and rinse them with cold water.
Cut each Brussels sprout in half after trimming the ends.
Brussels sprouts should be placed cut-sides down in hot olive oil that has been heated in a sizable skillet over medium heat.
Black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes are used to season.
Cook Brussels sprouts while keeping them in the same location for 7 to 9 minutes, or until the cut sides are browned.
Combine red onion and garlic with the Brussels sprouts; cook and stir the mixture for an additional 10 to 13 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are cooked through but still firm.
