Festive Bean Spread
This is a wonderful appetizer, a bean spread with a Mexican taste. It looks very festive with the red and green toppings, and it’s easy to put together. Your guests will be asking for the recipe, so keep it handy ! The two cheeses can be substituted with one 3-cup package shredded taco cheese.
On the largest flat serving dish, spread a thin layer of beans, salsa, cumin, and garlic powder that is about 1/2 inch thick.
This is the first (bottom) layer.
Sour cream and taco seasoning are combined, then spread over the bean layer to create the second (middle) layer.
Sprinkle the cheese on top of the third (top) layer before adding the chopped tomatoes and green onions.
Wrap in plastic and place in the refrigerator for about an hour.
