Lamb Feta Peppers
Since I am Greek, I have learned many good Greek recipes over the years! This is one of my favorites. It’s a savory combination of lamb, rice and feta cheese stuffed into sweet green bell peppers and smothered with tomato sauce.
Set oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees C).
Onion should be cooked for four minutes, or until soft, in oil heated in a medium skillet over medium heat.
Add the garlic and stir.
Cook for a minute.
Remove the peppers’ tops and the seeds.
Peppers should be placed upright in a 9 x 12 inch baking dish.
Combine the onion mixture, dill, salt, pepper, and allspice in a large bowl.
Fold in feta cheese after adding the rice and lamb.
Add mixture to peppers and stuff.
Combine sugar, lemon juice, and tomato sauce in a bowl.
Pour half over the peppers and half on the dish’s bottom.
