Lebanese Restaurant Rice Pilaf
With lots of butter and oil, this rice pilaf with toasted almonds and tahini is inspired by Lebanese cuisine and makes for a filling and delectable accompaniment to chicken and hummus.
Add water to a big bowl.
Rinse the rice until the water runs clear after adding it and letting it soak for 10 minutes.
Orzo is cooked and stirred in a hot butter-oil mixture in a skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes, or until it is lightly browned.
Rice should be added after the heat is raised to medium-high.
Cook and stir the orzo-rice mixture for about 5 minutes, or until the rice is translucent and coated with the butter-oil mixture.
Add salt to the rice mixture after adding 4 cups of water, stir, and then bring to a boil.
For about 20 minutes, with the lid on, simmer the rice until it’s fluffy, tender, but firm.
