Phoenician’s Key Lime Pie
Ground toasted almonds spike the crust of this delicious Key lime pie.
Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
Create crust: Almonds should be finely ground in a food processor before being added to a medium bowl.
Add sugar, salt, and graham cracker crumbs.
Melted butter should be added and combined until evenly moistened.
In a 9-inch pie plate, press.
Bake for 10 to 13 minutes, or until crust is golden brown, in a preheated oven.
While the crust bakes, prepare the filling.
In a big bowl, combine condensed milk cream, egg yolks, and lime zest.
To thicken the custard, whisk in a small amount of lime juice at a time.
