You will need a pizzelle iron to make these traditional Italian cookies.

Get the pizzelle iron ready.

Eggs and sugar should be blended together in a medium bowl.

While mixing, add the melted butter, vanilla, and anise extract gradually.

Add the anise seeds, baking powder, and flour.

Add 1/2 cup more flour if you prefer your cookies to be thicker.

Drop tablespoon-sized portions of cookies onto the grid’s center.

Cook with the iron closed until the steaming stops.

Depending on the iron used, this could take 30 to 90 seconds.
