Sauteed Fiddleheads
This recipe for fiddleheads in olive oil and garlic will teach you how to prepare them. Seasonal treats like fiddlehead ferns make excellent sides.
Large pot of salted water should be brought to a boil.
Fiddlehead ferns should be boiled for 7 to 10 minutes, or until just barely tender.
Drain.
Over medium-high heat, warm up the olive oil in a big skillet.
Add prepared fiddlehead ferns along with the salt, pepper, and garlic.
For about 5 minutes, cook and stir ferns until they are soft and lightly browned.
Lemon juice should be added after removing from the heat.
