Swedish Rye Cookies
For many years, this cookie has been displayed on the Christmas tree in the family. Visitors grab a treat off the tree and have a cup of cheer while they sit down.
Set the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees C).
Butter and sugar are whipped until light and fluffy.
Add salt, baking powder, rye flour, and all-purpose flour after stirring.
Add water to moisten the dough after thoroughly mixing.
On a board that has been dusted with flour, roll out the dough.
The cookies will be more crisp if the dough is thinner.
Using a cutter or floured glass, cut the dough into 2 1/2-inch rounds.
Using a thimble, make a tiny hole in the centre of each cookie.
On ungreased cookie sheets, bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
