Sweet and Sour Fish
This sweet and sour fish recipe pairs deep-fried halibut with a sweet and sour sauce. Cod or any other white fish can be used instead of halibut.
Halibut should be cut into bite-size pieces.
Add to a mixing bowl along with 1 tablespoon of flour and soy sauce.
Set aside for 30 minutes.
In the meantime, heat oil to 375 degrees F in a deep fryer or large saucepan (190 degrees C).
Halibut pieces should be deep-fried until golden.
Drain and then pat dry with paper towels.
Create sauce: Over medium heat, warm the oil in a medium skillet.
Sauté the bell pepper, onion, and pineapple chunks for one minute.
Add salt, 2 teaspoons of flour, 1 cup of water, pineapple juice, ketchup, and sesame oil.
Cook for 5 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Serve the halibut pieces with the sauce drizzled over them or alongside the sauce for dipping.
