Tava or Turkish Stew
This is a delicious Turkish dish that was created for American palates close to the military base. Serve over rice.
Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
Grease a medium casserole dish very lightly.
Cook the chicken in a skillet with 1 tablespoon oil over medium heat until the juices run clear.
In a blender or food processor, puree the roasted red peppers until they are smooth.
Mix the cooked chicken with the roasted red peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms, onion, and garlic in the casserole dish that has been prepared.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Add the final tablespoon of olive oil, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake for 30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly, in a preheated oven.
