Wagon Wheel Cookies
These are baked chocolate walnut cookies that have been covered in confectioners’ sugar.
Shortening and sugar are creamed together until smooth in a big bowl.
Stir in the vanilla after beating in each egg one at a time.
Salt, baking powder, and flour should all be combined before being added to the creamed mixture.
Adding walnuts is optional.
For at least an hour, cover the dough and refrigerate.
Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
Make dough balls the size of walnuts.
Using confectioners’ sugar, coat the balls.
On the cookie sheet, space the cookies 2 inches apart.
Bake in a heated oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cookies should cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before being transferred to a wire rack to finish cooling.
