World’s Best Marinara
This homemade marinara sauce is ready in less than one hour and filled with a variety of herbs, mushrooms, and onions. Serve with your favorite pasta.
Onion and garlic should be cooked and stirred in olive oil over medium heat for about 2 minutes, or until fragrant.
Red bell pepper, parsley, and mushrooms; cook and stir until mushrooms are just beginning to soften, about 2 minutes.
Stir for two minutes while adding oregano, sugar, basil, rosemary, sage, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
Cook the tomato sauce-seasoned onion-mushroom mixture for 30 minutes at low heat to meld the flavors.
Blend until smooth after transferring half the sauce to a blender.
Return to the saucepan and stir in the remaining sauce.
