True Pilgrim Stuffing

True Pilgrim Stuffing

True Pilgrim Stuffing
Simple and tasty, this is an old family recipe for stuffing that can be baked in a Dutch oven or stuffed into a turkey. This recipe uses only a few ingredients – ground beef, sausage, celery, onion, butter, and bread cubes.

Set oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).

Celery and onion should be cooked and stirred for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the onion is translucent, in butter that has been melted in a Dutch oven over low heat.

The ground beef and sausage should be cooked and stirred over medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the meat is browned and no longer pink.

The meat should be drained of any extra grease.

Place the cubed white bread, butter, celery, onion, and cooked meat in the Dutch oven.

Gently stir to combine.

Bake for about an hour in the preheated oven, or until evenly browned.
